1 Research My research is on the behaviour of Organisations, in particular Lean Organisations, as Complex Systems.
As computer scientist responsible for a large group in a very large automotive company, I am developing models
to simulate organisations and understand which rules deliver the best results.
In my early scientific period (1980-1982), I did some research in Mathematics, Geometry and Theory of Numbers
in particular, I demonstrated two Conjectures of Grünbaum, and found a new lower bound to a counterexample
to Carmichael Conjecture, a conjecture still open to this day, after more than 100 years.
2 Publications CS-DC 2015, to be published at SpringerCS-DC 2015
Towards a Formal Model of the Lean Enterprise KES 2015
Swarm Projects, Beyond the Metaphor 2014ICSIBO 2014
A lower bound for a counterexample to Carmichael’s conjecture (with Alain Valette), Bollettino U. Mat. Ital. (6) 1-A (1982), 313-316; , 1982
Two Conjectures of Grünbaum on Arrangements of Curves:Grünbaum
3 Projects I am working on the ComplexLean project together with Pierre Collet and Pierre Parrend
And as part of that, I am conducting an experiment called eHoshin, an open source code that will be
made available through the website eHoshin to enable organisations of all kinds,
to establish their objectives in a collaborative way, enabling all employees to participate,
thereby creating the conditions for buy in and accountability, and in the end workplace happiness.
